Eddisons expands Sheffield office with new building and project consultancy division

Eddisons has appointed newly promoted associate director Curtis Bowles to head the new Sheffield building and project consultancy team at its South Yorkshire office, which was launched in the city in October last year.

Joining Eddisons in 2016 as a building surveyor, Curtis was promoted to associate director at the Leeds-headquartered firm this year and will now head a four-strong team of building and project consultancy colleagues who will make the move to Sheffield with him from Eddisons’ Leeds office.

He will be joined by surveyors Jack Cooper and James Hunston, as well as a soon-to-be-appointed year-out placement surveyor. Jack has been with Eddisons for seven years, initially starting as a placement student. Also joining is Caitlin Belshaw, an undergraduate building surveying student on her placement year in industry from Sheffield Hallam University.

Ian Harrington, who heads Eddisons’ growing building and project consultancy team nationally, said: “We’re really pleased to have such a talented and capable young team led by Curtis heading up our building and project consultancy operation in South Yorkshire. Eddisons are fully invested in recruiting and nurturing young people and enabling them to progress upwards within the business. It’s fantastic to see such talented people thrive and rise to new challenges.”

He added: “The Sheffield office is seeing an increase in business across the board, with particularly strong growth in the education sector in South Yorkshire and the Midlands. The important work we are doing with schools and colleges is helping them generate winning bids to secure Government funding for much-needed physical improvements to grounds and buildings.

“Activity from the Government’s procurement frameworks, Crown Commercial Services and public sector professional buying organisation ESPO, is also increasing as Eddisons’ reputation grows in this area.”

Eddisons’ Sheffield office is headed by Adrian Lunn and has grown to become a team of 17 since its launch last autumn.

Contract wins propel Eddisons’ public sector property and land portfolio to £1bn

Contract Wins Propel Eddisons Public Sector Property And Land Portfolio To £1bn

Contract wins propel Eddisons’ public sector property and land portfolio to £1bn

A string of council contract wins has propelled the value of Eddisons’ public sector property and land portfolio on which it advises to over £1bn.

The contracts were secured via Eddisons status as a newly approved supplier on the Government’s Crown Commercial Service (CCS) estate management services framework.

Since October last year, Eddisons’ public sector team has added Cambridgeshire, Reading and Dudley councils to its list of local authority clients, which also includes Southampton, Enfield, Blackpool, Peterborough and Kirklees councils.

Reading Borough Council has appointed Eddisons to bring the site of its former Civic Centre, which was demolished in 2016, to the market this summer through a formal procurement process.

A major development opportunity, the site is expected to attract high levels of interest from prospective investors.

Eddisons has also been appointed by Dudley Council to provide land assembly advice, combining adjacent parcels of land to form a single site, on the town’s multi-million-pound Portersfield and Castle Hill regeneration schemes.

Eddisons’ head of public sector, Javid Patel, said: “As local authorities and other public sector organisations increasingly turn to us for fresh ideas and new direction on stalled capital projects and masterplans, we are rapidly building a reputation for bringing innovative new thinking to problematic portfolios and development sites.

“As we emerge from the pandemic, clients are seeing immense value in appointing us as an alternative adviser in areas such as build to rent (BTR), residential, extra care housing, commercial portfolios and town centre regeneration.

“We look forward to growing our market share in the public sector still further as part of our wider strategic business plan.”

Eddisons was confirmed as an approved supplier on the CCS estate management framework in summer last year. The framework is available to all UK public sector bodies when commissioning real-estate advice.

We build strong relationships with the school communities we work with and have been working with North Fawdon Primary for four years now.
