Pre-hospital training facility to open in Newmarket

Acting on behalf of the landlord, Eddisons has let Tulip House, 1 Craven Court in Newmarket to pre-hospital training provider Medipro.

MediPro has agreed a new 10 year lease on the recently refurbished office unit, which was previously occupied by the East of England Ambulance Service. The building provides a total area of 8,362 sq ft arranged over two floors and will be used as an additional training facility for emergency care assistants and associate ambulance practitioners.

Brian English, Managing Director of MediPro, comments: “Medipro Limited is a leading provider of pre-hospital education in the UK. We train ambulance technicians, offshore medics, diver medics and paramedics. Medipro is also the largest provider of ambulance apprenticeships nationwide, training thousands of emergency care assistants and associate ambulance practitioners.

“In 2021, due to the business growth, we doubled our office space in Stockton-on-Tees where we have our purpose-built training centre. In 2022, it was evident we need to look for another training centre down south in order to accommodate further growth.

“Eddisons have become a key support in helping us to secure training centre in Newmarket.

“Their approach was exceptionally professional, and I would highly recommend their services.”

Eddisons East Midland team’s 47-mile walk beats fundraising target to raise over £14k for charity

Eddisons’ eastern regional offices in Peterborough, Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds joined forces in September to complete the 47-mile Norfolk Coast Path from Hunstanton to Cromer. They completed the challenge in just 24hrs and have raised a staggering £14,000 for their nominated charity, Sue Ryder.

Inspired by their friend David Park, a director in Eddisons’ Peterborough building and project consultancy team who was sadly diagnosed with cancer in 2021, the team set a target of raising £10,000 for Sue Ryder, the charity that provides expert palliative care to people living with life-limiting conditions.

The intrepid team set off from Hunstanton on the morning of 8 September, trekking throughout the night along the coastal route and reaching Cromer the following morning.

“It was tough, but we did it,” said eastern region director Martin Hughes. “As a team, we were able to push through the night and keep our spirits up despite the aches and pains and a closed path which actually added to the 47 miles!

“We’re so proud and grateful for all the support we’ve received in helping us beat our £10,000 target and raise over £14,000 to provide help and much-needed expert end-of-life care for Sue Ryder.

Eddisons appointed to sell Saica Pack site in Ellesmere Port

Eddisons has been appointed, with joint agent Vail Williams, to sell the 200,000 sq ft former Saica Pack corrugated cardboard packaging site in Ellesmere Port. The factory stands on a 14 acre site on the M53 motorway close to the Vauxhall car plant.

The Saica Pack site, which was originally part of the Bowater Containers paper factory, is also adjacent to the 42 acre Link Logistics Park, currently under construction and due to launch state-of-the art warehouse space early next year.

Eddisons director Robert Diggle, who is leading on the sale of the site, said: “This is a prime site at the heart of the North West logistics network. It was originally built in the late 1950s and its location, between the M53 and the Manchester Ship Canal, and easily accessible from Liverpool, Manchester and the national road network, was as key then as it is now.

“Sites of this size and pedigree come on the market rarely and, with demand for quality warehouse and industrial space currently reaching critical levels across the North West, we expect a buyer for the former Saica site to be found very rapidly.”

“RRT is looking to start renovating the property to suit the charity’s needs and looks forward to occupation soon. RRT appreciates the cooperation of Eddisons throughout the process and their support in liaising with the tenants and vendor to suit our completion date.”

Agent on the property Matthew Hunt added, “We received great levels of interest from both purchasers and tenants from across the region looking to expand and/or relocate to St Neots. This is due to the geography of the area being appealing to businesses for logistical reasons together with recruitment prospects.”

Eddisons was the sole agent acting for the vendor in the sale of the freehold.

Eddisons team to complete 47-mile Norfolk Coast Path in 24 hours in £10k charity fundraising challenge

A team of colleagues from property group Eddisons’ eastern regional offices, in Peterborough, Cambridge, Huntingdon and Bury St Edmunds, are setting out to walk all 47 miles of the Norfolk Coast Path from Hunstanton to Cromer in just 24 hours next month, with the aim of raising £10,000 for the charity, Sue Ryder.

The intrepid colleagues, who have been training for their mammoth coastal trek throughout August, were inspired to raise money for Sue Ryder which provides expert and passionate palliative care to people living with life-limiting conditions, by their colleague and friend David Park. David, a director in Eddisons’ Peterborough building and project consultancy team, was diagnosed with cancer in 2021.

The Eddisons team, joined by David’s son, Cameron, who works for M&G Investments, plan to begin the gruelling walk from Hunstanton on the morning of Thursday 8 September, trekking throughout the night along the coastal route and reaching Cromer on Friday morning.

“It’s quite ambitious to try and complete this route in just 24 hours and it will definitely be tough trekking right through the night, but we’re determined to reach our £10,000 fundraising goal for Sue Ryder, with £5,000 sponsorship already secured, ” said Eddisons eastern region director Martin Hughes.

“We are all spurred on by the knowledge that the money we raise will help fund much-needed expert end-of-life care and we’re currently all training hard whenever we can to try and make sure we’re in the best physical shape for this challenge.”

He added: “It’s been great training together as a team of colleagues and friends. Hopefully our hard work will pay off and we will complete the 47 miles in a respectable time and with a good result for Sue Ryder.”

Vicki Lunn, community fundraising and operations officer at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough, said: “A big thank you to the team at Eddisons for taking on this epic challenge to support Sue Ryder. It’s very touching to see them all pull together, in honour of their colleague and friend, David. The money they raise will make a big difference in helping us to continue to be there when it matters for people going through the most difficult times of their lives.”

Eddisons project manages Lincolnshire Co-op store build

Eddisons has project managed the construction of the new 5,000 sq ft Central England Co-op store in Donington, Lincolnshire.

Creating 26 new jobs, the scheme was completed on time and on budget with an official opening earlier this month. Eddisons acted on behalf of developer, Market Harborough-based Minster Property and the firm’s director Nick Galloway liaised with Central England Cooperative’s fit-out delivery team throughout. Peterborough-based Burmor Construction was appointed as the principal contractor for the developer works.

The community food store in the newly-named Goodacre Buildings in Donington, near Spalding, was designed in line with the Co-op’s rigorous sustainability goals, and features a customer car park with permeable paving, water refilling station, air source heating and cooling, eco-friendly fridges, and a free bicycle repair station. The property was also awarded an A-grade energy performance certificate (EPC) rating.

Nick Galloway said: “It was fantastic to be involved in this new-build construction, particularly as maximising sustainability is central to Eddisons’ values. We worked as a team throughout to ensure a smooth transition over to the Co-op and it was nice to have the opportunity to keep the original landowners engaged in progress, keeping the family’s “Goodacre” name for the unit’s address.

“This new store will be a real asset to the local Donington community, creating new jobs as well as providing the vital resource of a grocery store that will serve a wide area.”
