The Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) provides grants for public sector bodies to fund energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation measures in public sector buildings such as schools, NHS hospitals and council buildings.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) launched Phase one of the PSDS in autumn 2020 with a £1 billion grant fund to support the development of energy efficient and heat decarbonisation projects.
Further phases have been completed since the original £1bn fund and the next phase of PSDS opens in September 2023. As with all previous phases, this will be run on a first come first served basis with the fund closing when applications have exceeded the amount in the fund. This makes it vital that public sector organisations ready to take that step to a low carbon heating future put a plan in place as early as possible in order to be fully prepared to submit their application as soon as the fund opens.
At Eddisons we have successfully supported many organisations with Salix-funded projects, from initial application through to project delivery. Contact us to discuss how we can assist with submitting your PSDS application this year.

The scheme is available for public sector non-domestic buildings for capital energy efficiency and head decarbonisation projects. It offers finance for up to 100% of the cost of capital energy saving projects meeting the criteria.
