Decarbonisation

As the Government continues to pledge towards a Net Zero future, we at Eddisons are keen to align our clients with their sustainability goals through decarbonisation.

What is decarbonisation?

Decarbonisation is defined by removing your dependencies on fossil fuels in order to reduce your carbon footprint and drive toward your Net Zero target. The process of decarbonisation involves removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by implementing a number of different strategies including the installation of heat pumps, PV panels, and even simple changes to insulation.

We have been able to deliver over £60m of sustainable improvements to organisations in both the public and private sectors, funded by Salix and other third-party providers. Furthermore, working alongside our sister company, leading finance broker MAF Finance Group, we can assist you in achieving your decarbonisation goals through alternative funding options and cost management strategies

Commercial property solutions

Our team of building consultants provide a range of commercial property solutions, from specialist building surveys to architecture and education funding application support. Speak to one of our experts to find out how we can help you deliver your objectives.

Support in delivering your projects to reach Net Zero

With our team in Eddisons we can help you achieve decarbonisation plans to reduce carbon emissions in your buildings. We can help you to secure funding for achieving Net Zero targets, then manage the entire project from start to finish to implement sustainable changes to your properties. Our team has experience of managing projects for decarbonisation plans across large-scale public sector organisations, and can use their expertise to find ways to improve your energy efficiency, and implement carbon reduction by replacing fossil-fuel heating systems with renewable energy sources.

LCSF & Public Sector Decarbonsiation Scheme Applications

Our team in building consultancy can assist you in applications to receive funding from the Salix Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) and Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). These schemes provide grants to public sector bodies to fund accessing skills and expertise to decarbonise their estates.

We have successfully won multiple bids on behalf of public sector bodies, and can provide support from funding applications, to managing the decarbonisation project once it has been won.

Turnkey Project Management

We provide services for project management of schools and Multiple Academy Trusts (MATs) to oversee construction and improvement projects as part of our decarbonisation offering. As part of this service, our project managers will work closely with you to ensure your decarbonisation objectives are met. Our team can manage stakeholder involvement and provide expert advice from initial design to construction phases, and project completion.

We understand how important it is to minimize disruption in the site, as well as upholding regulatory standards, and maximizing budget efficiency. Contact our team to learn more about how we can assist you, from small to large-scale construction projects in your estate.

M+E Surveys and Thermal Efficiency

Our surveyors can conduct Mechanical and Electrical Validation Surveys, also referred to as M&E surveys. If you have secured decarbonisation funding, and are seeking to complete a new project on your building, we can ensure risk is effectively monitored through completing an M&E survey. These surveys are used to measure the buildings’ physical condition, compliance and capacity through examining mechanical and electrical controls systems.

We can complete a thermal efficiency survey to maximize your estates’ energy efficiency and improve insulation performance. This can help decarbonisation strategy through reducing energy emissions, whilst also lowering energy costs.

Alternative Funding Reports

Through our sister company, MAF Finance Group, we can assist you in sourcing alternative funding to help you achieve your decarbonisation targets. MAF Finance Group works with a wide range of alternative finance providers, and can help you select the best suited option for your requirements.

Heat Network Studies, Project Management and Funding Applications

The Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) is a government-funded scheme to support improvements in the public, private, and third sector across England and Wales. Our RICS-qualified surveyors can complete HNES and optimisation studies to identify areas to improve performance in heat networks and recommend improvements. We can then use these surveys to demonstrate eligibility for funding in applications to HNES.

Retrofit Applications

Our retrofit services include applications for funding to introduce new materials, products and technologies to increase energy efficiency in your building. According to the government's net zero carbon strategy, and Build Back Greener initiative, they have set a target of retrofitting 1.5 homes per minute up until 2050, through a fabric-first approach.

There are multiple funding schemes available for retrofit, including the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, and Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery scheme. Contact our team to learn more about how we can assist you in improving your heating efficiency.

Passivhaus Design and Construction

Passivhaus, meaning passive hause in English, is a concept in architecture which relates to buildings which retain such high energy efficiency that they remain at a consistent same temperature. The term originated from Germany as part of energy efficient principles recommended from research into why buildings do not reach maximum energy saving potential.

Our team can help work with you on Passivhaus developments to reduce energy costs and work towards decarbonisation in Net Zero. Contact us to learn more about how we can assist with design and construction.
