Project
Eddisons was appointed to produce a comprehensive Photographic Schedule of Condition for Bradford Live, a prominent theatre located on Godwin Street in the heart of Bradford city centre. This iconic building, formerly the Odeon Cinema, is undergoing transformation into a 4,000-capacity, multi-purpose music venue set to play a vital role in revitalising the local cultural scene.
The project involved detailed documentation and assessment of the theatre's current state, capturing both internal and external conditions. The deliverables included an Initial Report, a Photographic Schedule, site plans provided by the client, and a Roof RAG Plan, which visually represented the condition of the roof coverings.
Approach
The Eddisons team, led by Joseph Fitzsimmons, utilised advanced surveying techniques and thorough visual documentation to ensure a detailed and reliable Photographic Schedule of Condition, examining various internal fabric elements, including:
- Floor finishes
- Wall finishes
- Ceiling finishes
- Sanitaryware
- Joinery
- Fixtures and fittings
In addition to the internal assessments, the external fabric elements were also evaluated, using a drone survey to inspect the roof coverings, ensuring an accurate representation of their condition. The external evaluations encompassed:
- Roof coverings
- Elevations
- External windows
- External doors
- Site areas
Results
The project was completed in eight days, with an estimated contract value of £3,950.00. Eddisons delivered the project on time and provided Bradford Live with a thorough and insightful assessment of the building’s condition, crucial for planning future renovations and ensuring the preservation of this historic structure.
