Eddisons were appointed by Lincoln Castle Academy to produce an Urgent Capital Support ( UCS ) funding bid following a fire safety audit undertaken by Lincolnshire fire authority under the Regulatory Reform ( Fire Safety ) Order 2005
The proposed life safety works include for the installation of new fire doors, fire compartmentation within ceiling voids and a new fire alarm system with emergency lighting.
The project will also include for the removal of localised asbestos containing materials that have been identified as part of the works.
Eddisons Building and Project team will be Project Managing the scheme on behalf of the academy ensuring that the works are safely delivered whilst causing minimum disruption to the operation of the school.
UCS funding is available to non Schools Capital Allocation (SCA) funded academies who can demonstrate urgent health and safety issues, structural problems, asbestos concerns and mechanical & electrical issues within their school estate.
Eddisons Education Team have the technical knowledge and expertise needed to submit and deliver successful UCS bids for non SCA academies.

Joseph is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over ten years’ experience working within the Project Management and Building Surveying sectors. Further to acquiring his BSc (Hons) at Sheffield Hallam University in 2004, he later worked towards chartered status with the RICS in 2013.
Working more recently with Mace and Amey, Joseph has undertaken various roles as project manager, contract administrator and employers' agent. Positioned within the consultancy divisions, Joseph delivered free schools across London and acted as technical advisor to the Education Funding Authority. In addition, he completed a variety of refurbishment schemes to high profile property on behalf of Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea Borough councils.
Experienced in working in both the private and public sectors, Joseph is well versed with the RIBA Plan of works, CDM Regulations, Building Regulations (England & Wales), British Standards and JCT forms of contracts. He has also managed and co-ordinated long-term planned maintenance budgets and undertaken pre-acquisition and schedules of condition on behalf of clients across the Yorkshire and Humber Region.
His interests include playing football, cycling and exploring new cultures and he is a keen skier and scuba diver when the opportunity arises.
