St Helens Town Centre Regeneration

St Helens Borough Council has brought forward a £100million transformation of the town centre in partnership with the English Cities Fund (ECF).

The redevelopment is expected to deliver significant social value to support the council’s recently adopted Inclusive Growth Strategy, generating an estimated 485 jobs and adding £23.2m to the local economy annually.

The works will include demolition of the existing Hardshaw Shopping Centre, multi storey car park and bus station. The future proposals include extensive highways infrastructure improvements together with a new 150 bed hotel, bus station, market hall, apartments, town houses and extensive public realm with ground floor retail.

Eddisons in partnership with AJP have been commissioned to deliver design works for all highways infrastructure comprising new state of the art bus station, enhanced public realm, active travel corridors and surrounding junctions.

“Delighted to be involved with a project of this scale that will deliver significant social value and be a huge boost to the local economy.”
