We have completed the freehold sale of the former West Anglia Training Authority (WATA) campus site in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire - just over three months after being appointed as the sole agent, instructed as part of the planned disposal of the 4.87 acre campus site.
It’s a landmark location in the Huntingdonshire district of the county; WATA was a high-profile establishment for many years, and its functions continue to spread across other organisations.
The site, with its 21,496 sq. ft. of mixed office and training buildings and 19,098 sq. ft. of warehouse/workshop accommodation, was launched by Eddisons in October 2024 for freehold sale or to let on a new lease as whole, or as individual buildings across the site.
Huntingdon Director Stephen Power, who led the agency on the site, advises that there were several interested parties in both the whole and various elements of the site, but the sale was concluded earlier in February to a single purchaser.
The identity of the new owner and the price paid remain undisclosed, but we can confirm that a locally-based business operator secured the site, which was marketed on a price on application (POA) basis.
Speaking of the deal, Stephen remarks, “This was a coveted instruction on a much-prized site in the Huntingdonshire district.
“It’s a one-off commercial opportunity in the current regional market and pre-launch interest last autumn indicated how auspicious an instruction it was for our agency.”
