Former Lemington Glass Works site brought to the market

The site of the former Lemington Glass Works in Newcastle is being marketed for sale on behalf of the Joint LPA Receivers through Eddisons.

Situated on a site extending to approximately 2.76 acres, the property comprises a modern car showroom, workshops, parts store and office accommodation, along with ample parking to the front and rear. The property also benefits from further showroom accommodation in the former Cone of the building which is currently let.

Situated in Lemington just outside Newcastle and located approximately 6.5 miles from Gateshead, the site is accessed directly off the A6085 with excellent access to the A1.

The Grade II listed building was the site of glass production in Lemington for over 200 years.

More recently, it was redeveloped as a car showroom and service centre.

Matthew Hattersley, associate director of Eddisons, comments: “This is a rare opportunity for parties to own or occupy a property that is steeped in history.

“The former glassworks cone building is the last surviving element of the former glassworks site and remains a local landmark. “

“We believe that interest will be strong for this excellent opportunity.”

Viewing of the former Lemington Glass Works, Lemington is strictly by appointment only through Eddisons as the sole agent.
