Sheffield valuation team expands with senior appointment and APC qualification

James Parkin has joined BTG Eddisons as a senior surveyor in the firm's Sheffield office, adding capacity to a valuation team that has grown steadily over the past year.

Parkin arrives from Cushman & Wakefield, where he spent close to four years in valuation and advisory, working across industrial, logistics, retail, and office assets. A chartered surveyor and RICS registered valuer, he studied real estate at Sheffield Hallam University and began his career in the city, so the move returns him to familiar ground.

James exclaims that he is “over the moon to have returned to my roots in Sheffield,” and to be joining BTG Eddisons at “such an exciting time for the business.
“Michael, Adrian and the wider team have made me feel extremely welcome, and I’m looking forward to what’s to come."

Developing our knowledge

Parkin's appointment coincides with a qualification closer to home. Jamie Lowe, who joined the Sheffield office as a graduate surveyor in 2024, has recently passed his APC qualification and now practises as a chartered surveyor and RICS-registered valuer. The pass matters beyond the individual milestone: it adds a third registered valuer to the team and increases the volume of valuation work the office can service.

A growing Sheffield office

Both developments sit within a wider expansion of the Sheffield base. Michael Goodare, director and RICS-registered valuer, said: "Bringing James in and seeing Jamie qualify in the space of a month tells you where the Sheffield office is heading. We have the people and the capacity to take on more instructions across the region, and we intend to."

Adrian Lunn, head of BTG Eddisons’ Sheffield office added that “the Sheffield office has grown far more quickly than expectation, and now has a large presence across Agency, Auction, Valuation, Lease Advisory, Property Management and Building Consultancy.”
