Consolidation sees industrial ink specialist in St Ives

In a lettings deal in which Eddisons acted as the sole agent on behalf of the landlord, the industrial and commercial inks & coatings machinery manufacturer has united its teams from co-locations in Newmarket & Kettering into 2,809 sq ft of new-build business premises in Unit 1 - on the first of two new phases of Meridian Court.

St Ives is equidistant between the company’s two former office bases in Newmarket & Kettering. According to Martin Black, Managing Director, Inkmaker UK Ltd, while the location was the main appeal, the quality of the new premises was an additional attraction.

He said, “St Ives is the ideal location given where our staff live and our hybrid working set-up. It’s, roughly, an hour’s commute in either direction on the A14 from our former co-locations.

“The blank canvas of a new-build unit offered seemed a fitting property choice for us to start with the new team set-up too.”

Eddisons’ agent, Matthew Hunt, confirms that since the upgrading of the A14, the property firm has seen St Ives on the radar of business occupiers in the way it didn’t register before.

“St Ives is, increasingly, becoming a viable option for companies who, formerly, might have considered Cambridge as the default location in the county.

“In looking westwards on the A14 too, it’s now also a viable business location for companies requiring convenient access to the East Midlands,” he said.
