BTG Eddisons has officially joined the Climate Ambassadors scheme, reinforcing our commitment to supporting climate education and inspiring the next generation of professionals within the built environment.
The Climate Ambassadors scheme matches professionals from sustainability-related industries with schools and colleges, helping bring relevant knowledge and real voices into the classroom. Volunteers are encouraged to share their expertise with teachers and students, support climate and sustainability initiatives within schools, and provide insight into the wide range of careers that support sustainability and the surrounding topics, such as decarbonisation.
For the real estate industry, the Climate Ambassadors Scheme offers a chance to help shape future talent while promoting the themes of sustainable development. By engaging directly with educators and students, industry professionals can demonstrate how areas such as property, construction, energy and sustainability all play a vital role in reducing carbon emissions, improving building performance and creating more resilient communities.
As part of our role as a Climate Ambassador, we will work with schools to support climate-focused learning and career engagement. This will include delivering careers talks that highlight opportunities within the built environment, sharing practical insights into how schools can become more sustainable, and helping educators connect curriculum topics with real-world industry experience.
We will also be acting as a go-between for schools and government/local authorities on a voluntary basis, ensuring those schools we are matched with are primed with our unparalleled sustainability advice.
Nazar Soofi, Head of Sustainability and Decarbonisation, commented that joining the Climate Ambassadors Scheme gives us “an excellent opportunity to connect our sector with the next generation.
“Through careers talks and engagement with schools, we can inspire students to consider the property industry as a viable job prospect whilst not giving up on climate awareness. We’re excited to bring something new to the table: sharing practical, real-world perspectives that help students see how they could play a role in tackling climate change through the built environment.”
By participating in the Climate Ambassadors Scheme, we hope to support climate education, raise awareness of sustainable careers, and contribute to developing the future workforce needed to deliver a low-carbon built environment.
