Project
Eddisons was instructed to act on behalf of Lidl over a number of years to assemble a site comprising five separate land parcels, all under different ownership. The site extended to approximately three acres and included four residential properties and a restaurant.
Lidl entrusted the commercial property agency team with this complex acquisition following a strong history of collaboration on various projects.
Approach
Identifying growing demand for a store in the North Hykeham area, Lidl tasked Eddisons with sourcing and securing a suitable site.
The team identified a location that met Lidl’s operational and planning criteria. Once the site was approved in principle by the client, negotiations were undertaken with the five different landowners to acquire each parcel individually and discreetly.
This multi-million-pound deal required careful coordination and strategic negotiation to align all interests and maintain Lidl’s position.
Results
Thanks to the team's local expertise, market insight and strong negotiation skills, Eddisons successfully assembled the full site within Lidl’s target budget.
Confident in the planning potential, Lidl proceeded with the purchase unconditionally, demonstrating full trust in the site and Eddisons. Planning Permission was subsequently secured, paving the way for a new Lidl store to meet local demand.
