Matthew Watson

Matthew is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with almost 20 years of experience in the construction and property sector, advising public and private sector clients across the commercial, residential, retail, education and industrial markets. He has an established track record of leading the successful delivery of quantity surveying, Employer's Agent and project management commissions, providing strategic commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle on a wide range of refurbishment, extension and complex new-build developments.

As Director of Cost Consultancy & Quantity Surveying, Matthew leads the continued development of BTG Eddisons' cost consultancy and quantity surveying offering. He supports clients nationwide, providing commercially focused advice and overseeing the delivery of professional services across a diverse range of projects and sectors. He also plays a key role in the growth and enhancement of the firm's service offering.

Prior to joining BTG Eddisons in 2026, Matthew was an Associate Director at a well-regarded quantity surveying practice in Leeds. Before this, he spent more than a decade at a regional consultancy, progressing from Quantity Surveyor to Director. He holds a BSc in Quantity Surveying and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
