Chris Soar

Chris is a Director and Head of Public Sector Valuation based in our London office. With around 12 years' experience in valuation and consultancy, he specialises in delivering valuation services across the public sector, working with Local Authority, Central Government, Academy Trust and NHS Trust clients.

He has built deep expertise in asset management and landlord advisory work, progressing through a range of valuation and surveying roles before taking on responsibility for public sector clients. His work spans the full range of public sector asset types, giving him a broad understanding of the specific valuation and management challenges facing local authorities, central government bodies, academy trusts and NHS trusts.

Prior to joining BTG Eddisons in 2026, Chris spent almost 12 years at Montagu Evans, progressing from Graduate Surveyor to Senior Associate across a range of valuation and asset management roles. He also gained earlier experience as a Property Manager at Marsh & Parsons, alongside placements at CBRE, Allsop LLP and Jones Lang LaSalle. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Property Finance and Investment from Nottingham Trent University.
