An award-winning private swimming academy has acquired new premises in St Neots, Cambridgeshire in order to expand its operations team and its offer in and around the county.
Eddisons has confirmed the sale of the whole property at 7 High Street in the Cambridgeshire market town to Elite Swimming Academy (ESA), which is one of the largest independent swim schools in the UK.
Founded in 2008 by Ed Williams, an accomplished long-distance swimmer and motivational speaker - who is famous for swimming the Channel and North Channel - ESA’s new premises in St Neots is an additional office in the county to its one in Histon, north of Cambridge city.
The academy has grown from a small hobby business to become a nationally recognised swim school with a substantial reach across Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire in operating multiple premium, private pools, including at Great Paxton, near to its new St Neots base.

The property at 7 High Street - totalling 1,150 sq ft, plus parking - is a converted 19th-century stable block and gives the new owner two commercial and one residential use buildings across 7a, 7b & 7c.
Acting as sole agent on behalf of the vendor in the sale, Matthew Hunt of our Huntingdon office confirmed that the property was originally marketed for offers in the region of (OIRO) £295,000, although the final price paid has not disclosed.
For Ed Williams, bringing ESA’s offices to St Neots is pertinent as he grew up just outside the town and was captain of St Neots Swans Swimming Club at just 14 years old.
He said, “St Neots is where my swimming journey began, so to return now with our company offices, particularly at a time of expansion for ESA, is very special
“I hope our presence will help to rejuvenate the town’s high street and support the community that helped to shape me.”
