We are able to confirm the sale of 17 acres of land in the heart of the Cambridgeshire fens, on behalf of Burgess Farms Ltd, in a deal worth circa £3 million in total.
The land at Fenton Way in Chatteris has been sold to a developer, with the sale agreed almost three years ago. However, the deal has had to adapt to market changes and planning requirements. During the planning process, the developer was approached by an occupier and delivery partner to provide a new 300,000 sq. ft. distribution facility.
Working with these parties, the landowner facilitated the final transaction to complete and support this significant investment.
Simon Parsons, who led Eddisons’ agency negotiations in the transaction, commented, “While the deal necessarily took time to complete, given the change in the scheme from the original speculative proposals, all the commercial interests involved remained focused on supporting it through to its conclusion.
“It’s a significant sale and the outcome will, eventually, bring new employment opportunities in this Fenland area of Cambridgeshire.”
