Our Peterborough agency reports that it is entering the fourth and final quarter of 2026 ‘on track’ in terms of activity levels for the previous three quarters of the year in a regional commercial property market it describes as ‘resilient’.
In the first six months of this year, transaction levels - the number of sales and lettings agreed - BTG Eddisons saw its Peterborough agency deals on a par with the pattern of 2025 when it was 10 per cent up on activity levels of the previous year.
An order book of instructions on sales and lettings of premises is maintaining a good pipeline in a market where tenants and owner-occupiers - the latter seeking freehold opportunities - have quality specification as a priority when it comes to individual business units or larger warehouse premises.
Most notably, coming onstream to the market in this final quarter of the year is the launch of the third phase of Eagle Business Park in Yaxley that will see a 350,000 sq ft extension to the original site which began in 2008.
Summarising the Peterborough agency’s experience in the first three quarters of this year, Gavin Hynes, BTG Eddisons' Regional Managing Director, said, “Against a backdrop of little ‘churn’ in the market - something that is acknowledged by peer agencies not only in Peterborough, but regionally and nationally too - there have been deals to be done and we are taking our fair share of those.
“There is a sense that the maelstrom of geopolitics is now baked-in to business decisions. Notwithstanding any major surprises in this quarter, we are expecting activity levels as we head towards the end of the year to follow the same pattern as in the first three quarters of the year.”
