A new skincare and medical aesthetics clinic is set to launch in former social club premises on Coventry Road, Market Harborough, confirms the East Midlands agency of Eddisons.

Called Lumi SKN, the clinic will open in early September at 40 Coventry Road in the market town.

The Market Harborough clinic is a new venture for business partners and experienced practitioners, Liz Appleton & Emily-Louise Varnfield who have worked together in skincare and aesthetics at a salon in Kettering for seven years.

Liz is a qualified medical practitioner and both business women were keen to find premises in which they could create a premium clinic-style setting to reflect the fact that Lumi SKN’s treatments and services go beyond that of a mainstream beauty salon.

The clinic's offering also includes stocking top-of-the-range beauty devices that allow fellow aestheticians to provide Lumi SKN's bespoke results to their own clients.

Liz and Emily-Louise's search for premises didn’t take too long before finding 40 Coventry Road, a detached, two-storey building, with cellar, totalling 1,810 sq ft (168.15 sq m), in a prominent location in the town - and with parking.

Inside, the layout of the premises was along the lines of a traditional social club.

There was formal reception/hallway area that opened up to the members’ main bar area and kitchen. Upstairs, there was a series of meeting/committee rooms and a storeroom.

In transforming the premises with a high specification fit out programme ahead of Lumi SKN’s launch in September, both business women acknowledge that the basic social club layout offered a good starting point.

Liz explains, “While there’s a total revamp of fixtures, fittings and décor, of course, our fit out has overlaid much of original layout.

Where once there were committee rooms, now there are treatment rooms and we still have a statement entrance.

Eddisons was the sole agent under instruction to let 40 Coventry Road and Amanda Lawrence, Agency Surveyor, who negotiated the lease on behalf of the landlord, said, “It was clear from the outset that the partners could instantly see beyond the velour and the wood panelling of the social club.

Both women have a clear vision of what their clinic’s offer to clients will be and, in 40 Coventry Road, they have a premium property and location in which to present themselves to new clientele.
