A multi-disciplinary construction consultancy with a Northamptonshire heritage stretching back over 50 years is gearing up to open its second office in the county - its fourth in the UK - this coming July.

The JPP Group, which has its headquarters at Whilton Locks in Daventry, will be opening an additional Northants office following its purchase of Unit 7 Orion Park, Kettering through the local agency office of Eddisons who acted on behalf of the vendor in the deal.

With a headcount of almost 100 across its current UK offices, the pursuit of a second Northamptonshire office by the Group was in response to business growth which includes a recruitment strategy specifically targeting post A-level students in the area through its bespoke apprentice programme.

When overlaid with the location of a growing client base, the consultancy group soon identified Kettering as an optimum location in which to open its additional Northamptonshire office, with the purchase of the 2,000 sq ft office building at 7 Orion Park, Kettering not long after.

Ben Arnsby, Group Director, JPP Group, explains, “In starting as a civil & structural engineering firm in Northampton in 1973, we’ve always had an affinity with the county - and it’s not for sentimental reasons.

“Northamptonshire continues to be a key economic growth area from which professional services supporting key construction and engineering projects across the East Midlands - and beyond - can operate successfully.

“Substantial residential growth and road improvements in the past twenty years have seen an increased catchment area for recruitment, with many of our head office staff commuting substantial distances to Daventry.

“Staff retention and recruitment is a linchpin of our business success. Kettering provides a better work-life balance option when it comes to commuting for some employees, and the high specification fit out we are currently undertaking at 7 Orion Park aims to foster wellbeing with areas for down-time during the working day focused on recreation and wellness.”

The final sale price of 7 Orion Park, Kettering is not disclosed by Eddisons. However, Amanda Lawrence, who led the firm’s agency in the sale on behalf of its client, confirmed that the office property was marketed for sale at a guide price of £350,000.
