BTG Eddisons has successfully completed the sale of a former church site in Sutton Courtenay, Oxfordshire.

The property, located on land to the south of Hobbyhorse Lane, was formerly occupied by Christ Church and was marketed on a freehold basis with vacant possession. The site was offered to the market inviting bids, reflecting its potential for a variety of future uses, subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents. The sale was handled by Nick Holtby, Head of South Coast Agency at BTG Eddisons' Fareham office, with the property attracting strong interest and ultimately being sold following a best bids process.

Situated in the historic village of Sutton Courtenay, approximately three miles north-west of Didcot and seven-and-a-half miles north-east of Oxford, the site extends to just over one acre. The parcel comprises an irregularly shaped plot which had become heavily overgrown prior to the sale.

The location benefits from its proximity to the Science Vale corridor, one of the UK's leading centres for science and technology businesses, encompassing key employment hubs including Milton Park, Culham Campus and Harwell Campus.

Commenting on the transaction, Nick Holtby said: “The site generated interest from a range of parties due to its location and potential for future development, subject to planning. We are pleased to have successfully concluded the sale on behalf of our client.”
