Abbey Development (Cambridgeshire) Ltd appointed us to advise on overseeing the management of the properties within Abbey Retail Park, which comprises seven retail and food & beverage units including a McDonald’s drive-thru, and an ample car park.
After a formal proposal was accepted, Eddisons was instructed to implement and run service charge administration for the Retail Park.
Approach
As we took over from the previous management company, we assessed the way in which the service charge was being handled, hoping to streamline the process and make savings for the client whilst not negatively impacting the day-to-day running of the estate.
This was achieved by defining the management tasks, reallocating services, and re-tendering the existing contracts. They had previously been overseen by a facilities company and had not been reviewed since their appointment.
Results
Abbey Retail Park is now considered to be the premier out-of-town retail area within St Ives, and has recently attracted investment, which has paved the way for plans to install an electric vehicle charging station.
