Salix Energy Efficiency Fund (SEEF)

The Salix Energy Efficiency Fund is part of the Salix Energy Efficiency Loan scheme, funded by the Department for Education. This scheme allows schools to apply for funding for energy efficiency projects. The goal of this fund is to improve the learning environment for staff and pupils by providing an energy efficiency environment.

Salix is a non-profit organisation funded by the government to provide loans to encourage energy efficiency in the public sector.

Who can apply?

Academies, sixth-form colleges, free schools and Multi-Academy Trusts (MAT) are eligible for this fund.

The Salix Energy Efficiency Fund (SEEF) focuses on the installation of energy efficient technologies to help reduce energy bills. It is an interest-free loan. The minimum value for a SEEF loan is £8000.

To be successful in your SEEF application you will need to put together a business case showing that the loan will repay itself by all energy savings within eight years.
