New win for Newcastle
Our Newcastle Building and Project Consultancy team have won a new commission to manage an external envelope replacement at Acre Rigg, a primary Academy in Peterlee, County Durham.
The academy, built in the early 1950’s, was one of the first CLASP type construction in the UK. Unusually, structural components of the building were recycled World War 2 aircraft hangars.
Eddisons’ B&PC team will oversee the replacement of the existing single glazed, insecure and thermally inefficient glazing and cladding panels. A new thermally efficient, secure and modern curtain walling system will be installed instead.
The £600k capital funded project was made possible through a successful CIF application to the ESFA in December 2019.
Works are due to complete by Easter 2021.
