The Bradford office of chartered surveyors Eddisons has completed the sale of a former Bradford residential care home.
Hillside Manor on Barkerend Road attracted significant interest when it came to market and has been bought by a local investor off an asking price of £250,000.
The Grade II listed two storey detached building, which includes a basement and dormer extension, extends to 4,755 sq ft.
The new buyer is preparing a planning application to convert the property, located in a predominantly residential area, into a single dwelling.
Steven Jones, Director at Eddisons said: ‘This is a large property in a popular area which attracted lots of interest. We actually undertook over fifty viewings.’
Hillside Manor had offered accommodation to 19 residents before tough trading conditions forced its closure.
Mr Jones said: ‘The care home sector has been badly affected by the down turn in the economy. Unfortunately we are likely to see other similar properties coming to market, where plans for change of use can be expected.’
