Planning application for Haydock Grange

Challenge

Taylor Wimpey proposed 450 residential dwellings on land to the north of Preston and required Lancashire County Council’s agreement on its highways and transport elements. Eddisons were appointed as part of the multidisciplinary team to submit an outline planning application.

Solution

We prepared a detailed Transport Assessment which considered a public transport strategy for the site and capacity analysis of the highway network including Junction 1 of the M55.

Results

Following submission of the Transport Assessment detailed post application discussions were held with the highways officers at Lancashire County Council which culminated in outline planning approval being granted in January 2012 without the need for a Planning Appeal.

Subsequently, we have provided input into the Reserved Matters application and undertaken the S278 detailed design.

“Obtaining planning consent can be an uncertain process and transport is a critical requirement of any application. We have the technical knowledge and working relationships with local authorities to ensure that you obtain the most advantageous planning consent.”
