This role sits within our Plant & Machinery Division who specialise in the valuation and sale of industrial plant & machinery, commercial and retail stock, motor vehicles etc.

Assets are sold both within the UK and overseas and this job holder will assist in preparing goods for sale. More specifically:

  • To undertake the preparation of auctions and sales, both in-house and offsite
  • To assist the Directors in valuing assets and compiling inventories
  • To co-ordinate the logistics of moving goods from site to site
  • To support and contribute to the growth of the Eddisons business

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare assets for sale, listing and cataloguing as appropriate, mainly offsite
  • Recognise the value of assets
  • Establish the suitability of assets for sale
  • Direct onsite staff, including contractors, when required, to ensure that projects are completed to the appropriate standard and within agreed timescales
  • Communicate with Clients ensuring they are appraised of progress, as required
  • Compile inventories of assets
  • Prepare goods for removal including palletising and parcels
  • Prepare comprehensive removal plans for the movement of goods from site to site
  • Plan and co-ordinate the timely removal of assets from site for delivery as appropriate
  • Facilitate the collection of goods in house and onsite
  • Plan and facilitate the clearance of sites including disposal of relevant items as per guidelines, to the appropriate standard and within agreed timescales
  • Effectively control costs within projects, adhering to budgets
  • Recognise ‘out of scope’ work and be able to recommend solutions
  • Recognise and introduce new business opportunities
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies

Job Requirements

  • Good knowledge of plant & machinery and logistics
  • Excellent standard of written and verbal communication
  • Sound planning and organisational skills with an eye for attention to detail
  • Capable of solving problems using initiative
  • Self-motivated and a strong team player
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal structure whilst exercising great judgement
  • Flexible with the ability to work away from home for periods and at short notice
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Passport
  • Forklift Licence an advantage, although training can be provided
  • NEBOSH qualification an advantage. If this is not held, the applicant will be expected to study for this, which will be paid for by the company
  • This role will involve manual work
