When STA Travel opted to close its branch opposite Bradford University, the global travel specialist’s first port of call was just one mile away – the local offices of leading commercial property agency, Eddisons.
Although normally associated with finalising deals for commercial and industrial property sales and lettings, Eddisons also provides an array of specialist advice and services.
“We deal with leases on a daily basis, and although more often than not we’re seeking to get the best terms for our clients, we’re also able to provide highly specialised advice on on-going leases,” said Eddisons Jonathan O’Connor.
On this occasion the Eddisons team was asked to extricate its client from a seemingly binding agreement, and after careful consideration of the terms and conditions were able to arrange a sub-letting for the remainder of STA Travel’s lease.
As a result, the lease on the Great Horton Road property, which sits in a shopping precinct that is also home to Sainsbury’s, Endsleigh Insurance and Subway, was by a sole trader who intends to open a shop retailing mobile phones and Internet services in the premises.
