Eddisons - Get it right

Eddisons Forges Ahead With Dewsbury Deal

Acting on behalf of haulier’s JayBe, the Huddersfield office of Eddisons has sold the company’s former storage premises on Forge Lane, Dewsbury for more than £2million.

The site, which comprised 4-acres of land and a 35,000 sq ft warehouse, was put on the market by the local company following its decision to reorganise its premises in the Yorkshire area.

Marketed with an asking price of £1.8million, Eddisons sold the Forge Lane site after a competitive bidding process to Euro Fence Coatings Ltd – a Ravensthorpoe-based powder coating specialist, which was keen to consolidate its operation from two smaller sites into one larger property with potential for future expansion.

“The limited availability of freehold sites and property means that when an opportunity like this comes to the market you are virtually guaranteed a great deal of initial interest,” said Eddisons’ Jason Metcalfe.

“Whether this turns into a rush of firm offers depends very much on the quality and perceived value of the property and, in the case of the Forge Lane site it scored very highly on both criteria. The property is modern, prominently situated in an established industrial area of Dewsbury, and boasts good links to the regional motorway network.”

Since finalising the Forge Lane deal, Eddisons has been given instructions to find a buyer for one of Euro Fence Coatings’ former premises in Ravensthorpe.

“Although this happens on a fairly regular basis, it is still always a source of pride to gain more work as a direct result of the quality of the work you and your team have carried out,” added Jason.

Marketing has recently commenced and again initial interest has been good from owner occupiers and industrial investors.
