The plant and machinery division of leading commercial property agent, Eddisons has demonstrated its carpeting credentials, by successfully completing two major projects.
Acting on behalf of Kroll, the administrators of Blackburn based Causeway Carpets, Eddisons firstly valued and then disposed of over £450,000 worth of machinery owned by the tufted carpet manufacturer via a series of private treaty deals and a tender sale.
The process, which also saw Eddisons dispose of the company’s freehold property for a figure in excess of £500,000, saw specialist machinery such as hank dyeing, carpet tufting, cutting and wrapping machines sold to a mix of UK and overseas buyers.
In addition, Eddisons also sold one of the last major carpet manufacturers in Scotland. Acting on behalf of administrators, Meston Reid, the Manchester-based company sold assets of First Textiles Flooring’s (formerly known as Kingsmead Carpets) tufted carpet manufacturing plant through a combination of auction and tender. A total in excess of £130,000 was raised.
“While we don’t profess to being experts in all the different fields we work in, we are always confident in our ability to value, target and then sell even the most complex of plant and machinery, and these two sales once again demonstrate this fact,” said Eddisons’ Jim Asquith.
